Over the past three weeks the 2010 U.S. in the World: International Law & Foreign Policy program brought together 25 youth of diverse backgrounds at the Council on Foreign Relations [CFR] to explore critical issues facing the world and our own communities in the 21st century.
Students interacted with leading foreign policy experts, including Leslie H. Gelb, Theodore Roosevelt IV, Theodore C. Sorensen and George Stephanopoulos, among others. They engaged in interactive workshops about the role of the United States in an evolving global landscape, participated in documentary screenings and discussions with filmmakers and journalists, and took field trips to such places as the U.N. Headquarters, Ellis Island and others.
Global Kids was honored to have the U.S. in the World program featured in the New York Times on August 6th, in a fascinating piece by Clyde Haberman. Click here to read the article!
